Seyyed Hossein Mir-Zafarjuyan, CEO of the International Exhibitions Company Employees' Cooperative: "Qom Health" — a new step toward market expansion and the export of medical equipment.
The CEO of the Cooperative Company of Employees of the Iran International Exhibitions Company called Qom Health 1405 a business-oriented event and said: The main goal of this exhibition is to transform the capacities of the health industry into real opportunities for market development, formation of trade cooperation, and strengthening the export of medical equipment and health products.
Qom will host the first edition of the specialized "Qom Health" event in Azar 1405; an exhibition designed to bring together manufacturers, specialized companies, treatment centers, institutional buyers, and health sector activists, and which is intended to become, beyond an exhibition event, a platform for developing trade interactions and investment in the health industry.
According to Exhibition News, citing Mopena, holding this event in Qom, given the province's scientific, academic, medical, and economic capacities, can provide the ground for creating effective communication among different sectors of the health industry and regional markets.
In this regard, Seyyed Hossein Mir Zafar Juyan, CEO of the Cooperative Company of Employees of the Iran International Exhibitions Company, has provided explanations about the goals, programs, and prospects of holding Qom Health 1405.
Qom Health's goal: moving beyond product display and reaching business opportunities
Mir Zafar Juyan, regarding the main goal of holding this exhibition, stated: "The fundamental goal of holding the Qom Health Exhibition is to form a specialized, focused, and fully practical platform for introducing, exchanging experience, and developing the industry of medical, dental, pharmaceutical, laboratory equipment, and health services."
He added: This event has not been designed merely with a provincial view, and from the beginning a national horizon and a future-oriented approach have been considered for it.
The CEO of the Cooperative Company of Employees of the Iran International Exhibitions Company considered the lack of a specialized and regular event in Qom Province to be one of the existing gaps in this field and said: Qom Health can bring together manufacturers, importers, treatment centers, and institutional buyers on a common platform and reduce the dispersion of trade activities in this field.
According to him, the gap between domestic production capacity and the real needs of the market is another existing challenge, because many knowledge-based companies and domestic manufacturers possess considerable technological capabilities, but due to the lack of a suitable platform for introduction and connection with the market, their capacities are not fully seen.
Mir Zafar Juyan also emphasized the necessity of strengthening the health ecosystem of Qom Province and added: This province has considerable scientific, academic, and medical capacities, but this capacity has not yet emerged in the form of a specialized and coherent event in the health sector.
He emphasized: The philosophy of Qom Health is that the exhibition should transform from a "place for product display" into an "engine for creating business opportunities," and this approach has been taken into account in designing different sections of the event, from booth layout to specialized meetings.
Three main advantages of Qom Health
Mir Zafar Juyan, regarding what distinguishes Qom Health from other health sector exhibitions, said: The competitive advantage of this event can be summarized in three main axes: geographical and regional focus, a business-oriented approach, and the targeted and specialized size of the exhibition.
He explained: The selection of Qom as the venue for this event has been made with attention to the province's scientific, medical, and religious status. Qom can attract targeted audiences from central and neighboring provinces, and on the other hand, the cost of attendance for many companies, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, is more economically justified compared with large exhibitions in Tehran.
He added: The second axis is moving away from a merely display-oriented approach and focusing on business. Holding B2B meetings, practical workshops, the presence of trade delegations, and direct coordination with purchasing centers, including hospitals and the University of Medical Sciences, help the exhibition become a platform for negotiation, transaction, and cooperation.
The CEO of the Cooperative Company of Employees of the Iran International Exhibitions Company continued: This exhibition will be held with an area of about four thousand square meters and a focus on five main product groups so that participants can establish deeper and more effective communication with their real audiences.
Planning for the presence of domestic companies and foreign delegations
Mir Zafar Juyan, regarding the plan to attract domestic and foreign participants, stated: The plan to attract participants has been designed in two layers, domestic and foreign.
He said: In the domestic section, cooperation with specialized associations and syndicates, including the Association of Medical Equipment Manufacturers and the Human Drugs Syndicate, is on the agenda. Also, the formation of the exhibition's policy-making council with the presence of Qom University of Medical Sciences, the province's Medical System Organization, the province's Industry, Mine and Trade Organization, and the province's Chamber of Commerce is being pursued.
According to him, targeted invitations to active companies, offering participatory incentives to knowledge-based companies, and implementing specialized advertising programs in media and professional health networks are among the other planned programs to increase domestic participation.
Regarding the international section of the exhibition, he also said: Inviting trade delegations and representatives of foreign companies active in the health sector, designing participation packages for foreign representatives residing in Iran, and coordinating with commercial counselors and joint chambers of commerce to introduce Qom Health at the international level are on the agenda.
Goal-setting for contracts and exports
One of the main axes of Qom Health is creating direct communication between suppliers and buyers. Mir Zafar Juyan said in this regard: Transforming the exhibition into a platform for contracts, exports, and trade communications is one of the main concerns of the organizers.
He announced the holding of structured B2B business meetings with the presence of institutional buyers and procurement managers of treatment centers and added: Coordination with Qom University of Medical Sciences and affiliated hospitals for targeted visits and introducing the real needs of these centers has also been considered.
Inviting foreign trade delegations, creating a space for direct negotiation, holding workshops and specialized panels focused on exports and international standards, and also creating a database of participants and audiences are among the other programs that, according to Mir Zafar Juyan, have been planned for this exhibition.
He emphasized: Dedicated spaces for private negotiations and contractual meetings have also been considered so that the connections formed at the exhibition can lead to real and sustainable cooperation.
Mir Zafar Juyan noted: The success of Qom Health will not be measured merely by the number of visitors; rather, the number of effective meetings, signed memoranda of understanding, and contracts that ultimately lead to transactions will be among the main indicators for evaluating this event.
Expectations from the government and guild organizations
The CEO of the Cooperative Company of Employees of the Iran International Exhibitions Company considered the practical accompaniment of government bodies, guild organizations, and the private sector to be a condition for the success of Qom Health.
He said: We expect government bodies to facilitate administrative processes and the issuance of necessary permits and to cooperate in the effective presence of treatment centers and institutional buyers, as well as in introducing the event in their specialized networks.
Mir Zafar Juyan also asked associations and guild organizations to provide the ground for the participation of capable companies by introducing the exhibition to their members and to play an active role in designing scientific content and specialized workshops.
Regarding the role of the private sector, he also said: Companies should attend this exhibition with a long-term and professional view and consider Qom Health an opportunity for market development and networking, not merely an advertising expense.
A call for the formation of a sense of collective ownership
At the end, Mir Zafar Juyan emphasized: The most important demand from officials and activists in the medical equipment and health industry is that all stakeholders consider Qom Health as belonging to themselves and share in its formation and success.
He added: Officials should be present at this event with a supportive and facilitating approach, guild organizations should consider it part of their guild's development plan, companies should participate with professional planning, and treatment centers and buyers should also help make the event practical by attending actively and expressing their real needs.
The CEO of the Cooperative Company of Employees of the Iran International Exhibitions Company noted: If a sense of collective ownership is formed among the different actors of the health industry, Qom Health can move toward becoming an effective, sustainable, and reference event in the country's health sector.
He emphasized: The organizers will use all their capacity to create this platform and invite all health industry activists to accompany them on this path.
